Crazy impressive "About Me" page

Who am I?

My name is Mindy Neal, your new health coach and trainer. 🙂

I help you take your current fitness program and make it better (or create a new one), so you don’t waste your time on hard workouts or fad diets that

My approach is holistic, centered around individualized care, and focused on gradual progress toward a goal.

Together, we move you into a lifestyle you enjoy that fits you and how you work and live so you can graduate to the next levels of activity while getting fitter, feeling more confident, and gaining more energy.

What you may not know (or maybe you do) is I’m kinda famous for my walking. My first real SUCCESS with training myself came because I trained for a 60-mile walk (not a run, a walk).  And I had never heard of an “ultra” at the time.

And now, I’m kinda famous (in my neighborhood) for my running.

I love adventures and maps, seeing the world, and experiencing LIFE. We incorporate all of that into our training.

Who works with me?

I work with people, mostly over 45 years, who are totally ready to upgrade their fitness and food into a lifestyle (not an identity), who may be struggling to add proper sustainable exercise or nutrition into their lives, mainly because their work-from-home schedules can leave little in the way of structure or boundaries combined with overwhelming and misleading marketing messages and information around working out and the latest fad diet “guaranteed to shed unwanted pounds.”

Feeling the over 45 blahs? Yeah, I’ve been there (raising my hand with the over 50s). Transitioning into perimenopause and beyond? Same – me too! You’re not alone in this.

What makes my approach so different from other trainers and programs?

To begin, you and I work together. We work on the recovery aspect first, plan for the obstacles that are going to come up, and put together a personalized program that fits your unique working schedule and lifestyle.

We incorporate fitness, food, sleep, and balance holistically because we don’t live in a bubble. There’s no magic bullet, and it does take a little bit of everything done consistently to make meaningful, sustained change.

Most fitness plans just focus on the fitness or “one great workout,” and the trainee is left to “hydrate” and “get proper nutrition” and “rest and foam roll” after the session, and they’re left hanging.

The most common obstacle for everyone is GIVING UP! Typically because they don’t have time, they’re afraid of getting hurt, it was too hard and they didn’t have support; they were overwhelmed by what they should do next around food or what to do when they’re feeling sore or how to get through a plateau.

I know. I’ve been on the trainee side of that!

Plus, doing “one great workout” doesn’t lead you to meaningful progress.

Why do I do what I do?

Your success is my success!

Seeing and feeling your excitement gives me great joy. Being part of something bigger than me is my ultimate “high.”

I want to know that you’re not going to give up on your dream, and I’m here to guide you on that journey.

My hope is that you’ll fall in love with the process of living your life everyday with joy and taking the best care of yourself.

I am very passionate about fitness at any level. I believe that movement is the foundation for living an enriched life.

I’m always studying the science of why we humans are the way we are and how to tinker with these amazing machines we live in.

I also believe you deserve the best service, especially around your personal well-being.

It’s an honor to be trusted with that responsibility, and it’s one I don’t take lightly.

What do I do?

I practice what I preach; I walk the talk. I walk the walk (and I run, cycle, row, lift, Pilates…)

I won’t ask you to do something that is untested or unproven.

I am committed to your progress.

I’m here every step of the way.

Every time you show up, I’m here; not like “Every Breath You Take” by the Police or a crazy stalker
more like the guardian angel that sits on your shoulder.

When an obstacle comes up for you, we work the problem together, we make adjustments, and we check in.

I am an extremely-dedicated, process-driven individual. I stay focused on YOU and your progress so that your program evolves as you do.

More Impressive Stuff:

I have more than 25 years of excellent professional oral and written communication mastery, as well as problem-solving and scientific knowledge.

I am a certified holistic health coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and a “retired” massage therapist.

That gives me a perspective that other fitness professionals just don’t have.

I really like the touchy-feely stuff. 😊

Plus, I love adventures!

If you’re dying to know more, here are some fun and interesting facts!

  • I met Oprah on the top of a volcano in Hawaii.
  • I used to work at the Improv comedy club and drove Chris Rock to the airport (he sat in the front seat of my Toyota Paseo).
  • I love to play games!
  • I’ve ziplined in Hawaii, deep-sea fished in Alaska, hiked the Grand Canyon.
  • BUCKET LIST: Walk the Camino De Santiago, the Arizona Trail (IRL), and hike the Pacific Crest Trail, travel the world, visit Ecuador…the list is really long!

How do I chill out?

When I am not walking, running, lifting, cycling, or rowing, you can find me at home enjoying the Great British Baking Show or Ted Lasso; listening to my favorite podcasts, laughing, and probably talking to the host out loud; or occasionally in the movie theater sitting in the second row, watching a new movie release (not as much as I used to, for obvious reasons).

From one healing human to another, you cannot afford to wait to reprogram your fitness, massage out the kinks, and get it super fit with me, so your life is the best thing to ever happen
well
to your life!
